Having problem switching to DAE mode in DP 5.01

I've been waiting for DP 5 since 4.61 knowing that I can finally utilize Digi's hardware through DAE. I have the HD Accel 2, PT 7.1cs7 running on G5 2.7 Dual with 4.5 GB ram, OS X 10.4.6. Pro Tools works perfectly. I updated to DP 5.01 and still can't switch to DAE. DP crashes all the time whenever I try. I have trashed DP prefs, repaired permissions, removed the digi audiocore plugin, reboot, uninstalled both PT and DP, reinstalled them, even trashed some of PT's prefs, etc..... DP defaults to MAS every launch (PT is not running at the same time). I can access Digi's HW via coreaudio but DP will not allow me to switch to DAE or just MIDI! I have the Traveler and it obviously works well under MAS. If anyone has an advice or two to get my DAE running, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

It should work fine with DP, but DP 5 with DAE is quickly becoming infamous for corrupting prefs. You have to trash ALL of DP prefs. Take the whole folder out of the user/lib/prefs. You can try saving user settings and then putting them back in, but I've found that the best results are from just dumping the whole thing.

Also, I would suggest trashing the DAE pref and also trashing all the Digi data base folders on every drive connected to the system.

I've had to do this on semi weekly basis since switching to DP 5. It seems to be less of a problem if you start with a new session created in DP5, but it still happens even then. Opening 4.6 files is ify. I've had some open without issue, but it seems that mostly when opening older sessions I run into problems. Either way, I can never work longer than 3 or 4 days without having to clean the prefs out.

...And I thought I was the only one having these issues. Thanks for the post. I have resorted to using the digi audiocore with HD using MAS!!!! I am tired of deleting prefs! Maybe i will just have to force myself to lock the studio door and spend a week working with PT's MIDI hoping that I will find a comfort zone in that environment!!! Life shouldn't be this hard! We're here to make music, to be creative... not to spend most or our time trying to be computer geeks or techs!!
