I record shows to an Alesis HD24 and then bring them into DP for mixing and editing. I can't seem to drag all 24 files to 24 separate tracks, although it seems some folks have done this. In fact, I can't even bring two tracks named x.L and x.R into a stereo track. I can't even drag a pair of tracks from two mono tracks into a stereo track, something that is dead simple in PT LE.
Any ideas why this isn't working?
Thanks much!
Edwin
PS How do I change the output of all or multiple tracks at once?

Are you certain that your project is setup with 24 "active" tracks matching the track count you are importing? One thing that used to stump me was that I could add an audio track, but unless the actual hardware were assigned specifically to accommodate those tracks, just adding an audio track wouldn't work.
If there is no record icon that will turn red on the available track, importing into the Tracks Overview window won't work.
Is the Alesis audio format .aif? If so, try importing the tracks through the soundbites window first.
This is from Shooshies Tips and Tricks thread:
Simultaneous changing of multiple track I/O's
Works in: Tracks Window
Highlight a bunch of track names in the track window, hit OPTION-A and you can simultaneously change the inputs and outputs of multiple tracks all at once.

thanks Frodo!
One thing that's a little weird is that I can do 24 mono tracks (I use a MH 2882, which is only 18 hardware channels) without any problem. Why would adding a stereo track, to which I move two of the files from two of the mono tracks, create this problem? The stereo track can be put in record mode, btw. Red light goes on and everything.
Thanks for the i/o tip! Just what I needed!
