Can someone refer me to what page they explain the audio to MIDI conversion in the DP 4.5 or DP 5 manual.
Can't find it.

Re: Audio to MIDI
What you want is the Pitch Correction section in the manual, and take a look at the MOTU site. This is posted somewhere on this site, but I don't have a link, so sorry there's no attribution of authorship:fokof wrote:Can someone refer me to what page they explain the audio to MIDI conversion in the DP 4.5 or DP 5 manual.

You CAN extract the pitch info from a audio track but it took me a while to figure out how....I will try to explain how I did it.
1. Chose 'pitch' from audio track I wanted to convert.
2. I clicked on the little magnify glass on the right of track name until the MIDI data was above the wave form in track display.
3. With arrow I select JUST the MIDI data and from edit menu chose 'copy' .
4. In new MIDI track I 'paste' from edit menu and voila!
I guess one must seperate the data in the audio track and this the way I did it. I would be happy to learn any other method so please post any other suggestions for this issue.
