I have recently acquired an older MTP-AV, with the parrallel connector and 8pin mini DINs. I'd like to connect it to my Mac G4 blue tower, which is the 1st Mac NOT to have the old serial connectors. Any advise out there? Parallel card for this Mac? USB -> RS-422 adapter? Can't be done? Some other option I haven't thought of? To anyone who knows, please reply.

Maybe you need something called " G Port " or "G4 Port from Griffin Technology. This is a serial adapter for G4s.
I have one used, because I was using the same MTP AV for a long time with a G4 933Mghz. Yesterday I changed all my equipment and I don't know what to do whit this thing. Maybe we can make a deal, but I don't know if this is possible inside the forum. If not, I'm sure you can get it out there.
