Does MOTU need Digi's coreaudio?

Post by 4ace »

I've had problems getting the digidesign standalone coreaudio working in 10.4.6 with my 002r for use in Ableton Live.

Since i want to move to Digital Performer as my main recording app. anyway,i was wondering if i would still need that POS standalone app.?

I'll be grabbing a traveler soon.

If the standalone coreaudio is required for use with motu hardware have any of you had problems with it?....If so any solutions??.....

I checked Digi's DUC and there seems to be a major issue with this thing!

No, you only need the digi coreaudio manager to use apps besides protools withthe digidesign hardware. MOTU hardware and others have their own coreaudio drivers which have nothing to do with digidesign. I agree, the digi coreaudio is crap. MOTU hardware will play much better with other apps.
