I.E., Some stuff that you found helped out your DP experience? I repair permissions every second, but any thorough freeware ones that you guys like?

I use OnYx for daily, weekly and monthly maintenance. It's free
http://www.titanium.free.fr
Very simple, usefull and handsom

for hard disk maintenance, I use TechToolPro weekly. It's not free but a great value for the bucks. It speeds up your disks.

Extremely reliable IMHO

Hi Daniel, thank you for this great link for OnYx. Do you happen to run Pro Tools on your same system? Just wondering if it pesents any problems (or would be likely to) for another app? Sometimes the newest version of OS can present issues with Pro Tools & other apps. I've loaded it up & all looks good, but am a little concened when 10.3.7+ is available & I won't be able to update immediately for PT's (DP won't cause issues I know). Thanks, Phil

Im running Onyx and this is a great app speeding up things.

For disc maintenance / I copy things around so I can completely whipe a partition before starting to work with it.

Hi Phil

I don't run ProTools, so am not aware of issues about it.

I've heard and experiment very good things about Disk Warrior.
But, once it could not get around a disk issue, saying the directory was too much damaged to repair, wich TechToolPro saved for me.

By the way Disk Warrior works on directories only, no disk defrag.
TechToolPro does both.
With my slow system, defrag of system disk and file disk is a real speed boost.

Abosolutly TechTool Pro and Onyx plus Super Duper for complete back-ups.
I also have Disk Warrior which I very rarely use.

Don't know about Super Duper but I use Carbon Copy Cloner to backup the whole system disk. With a nice bootable option feature.

I just miss a reliable incremental backup utility for my audio files disk.
I had no success with Silverkeeper, failing to take my files.

Any advice ?

I also have Carbon Copy Cloner and you can choose what you want to back-up with it. But now I use Super Duper which will back-up only newer versions automatically, which is way faster and is also bootable. For my audio files I just do a drag and drop.

I run Disk Warrior regularly on my audio/video SATA. It's the sort of app that you never want to really need. I've heard very, very good things about it... that it got a drive back when nothing else would.

Hi Richard, I just made the connection & I'd like to say that I absolutely loved Voices of Light that played here at the Opera House a couple years back. I attended your lecture also before the show which was very informative & intriguing. If you don't mind me asking, what is your latest project?
