Config studio settings in DP5

Post by Finelytuned »

Is it just me or is there NOT any written info regarding the config studio settings in DP5. I recently received my upgrade. How do you set the prime seconds, work quanta ( huh?), and max work percent so I achieve the optimal cpu performance?

I tried every combination possible and one day the mac flies like a jet and the next time ( with no new data AND with the exact same settings) I'm back to greatly disabling tracks! WHY IS THAT?

Can someone PLEEESE....help me get my head around configuring these settings so I can get consistent audio performance?

I can't find any info on this either. Just left the defaults alone.

You can find info on theses settings in the DP 5.0 addendum pdf that accompanies DP. It's on the installer disc.

Thanks, I thought I read that pdf but I must have been in a hurry.
Yep, there it is, just another paragraph without much fanfare.

hmmm... it does gve the impression that a lot of features in DP5 were last minute additions.

Or perhaps just that just that the manual was printed well in advance of the release.....

Do you leave your computer on all the time? I find that running Macjanitor and fixxing permissions helps alot.
