Hi, just bought two 828mkiis and I'm having this problem... The older drivers are not available at MOTU.com (that I can find) are they mirrored anywhere? Can someone email them to me or post a link?
Could excessively long firewire cable between the two units be part of it?
Brand new to the world of MOTU....
I'm a Sonar 5P user.
My desktop is running Winpro x64 (but multiple is not really a big must) and I figure I'm out of luck here if it really is the driver as there's only one x64 driver so far. Laptop is WinHome w/ SP2 and I'd really like to be able to daisy chain.

I hate to say it... but none of these worked for me. Clearly it's not a driver problem... I'm going to try a very short firewire cable to bridge the two units. hopefully that's it. If not I'm at a loss.
Could it be because they have different firmware? one is 1.0 and one is 1.01.... I saw a post I found searching on Google that said updating the firmware entails getting and installing a chip from MOTU tech support??

I did some stress tests with the new drivers last night and I think they perform better than the previous ones. The slave unit seems to be able to keep in sync where before the sample rate would blink and the audio would go silent or have bleeps.
Quality firewire cables.
SP2 patch and registry hack applied.
Good firewire interface.

Hey Steven. I just got my 828mkII replaced by MOTU... The first one I had hung when started up. The new one doesn't hang but it is not recognized by the computer.Steven Bell wrote:I did some stress tests with the new drivers last night and I think they perform better than the previous ones. I'm running Intel Pentium 4 with 2 gigs of ram Asus mb... with TI firewire built in, plus I added another TI firewire interface, just to be sure. Both show up under device manager working fine. The OS is WinXP SP2. I've tried both drivers... two different firewire cables, into both the firewire (FW) ports and I've even tried disabling one of the FW ports, my onboard audio card has been disabled in device manager...
Still recieve the message "No MOTU Device Located" or something of that sort.
Any idea?
