what i would like to do is stop using my soundcraft spirit folio mixer and plug my gear straight into the ulralite's in's. that i understand. my problem is i want to have my kaoss pad set up the same way it was on the soundcraft, that being aux send/return or efx send/return. please reply if you have any suggestions.

yeah i figured it out myself. you might have to reconfigure your in's/out's since you mentioned your all filled on both. what i did was in cue mix's bus #2 i set the master fader to the same two channels going out the motu to the in's on kaoss pad.
so in bus#2 click on the little box above the master fader and select the outs that are going to the kaoss pad's in's. now what ever you have going in bus #1 those channels can be sent to the kaoss s pad by using the faders on bus #2.
here is a example, in bus #1 let's say a drum machine on ch. 3 /4 and kaoss pad on 7/8. bus#2 is where you send to the kaoss pad by moving up faders 3 and 4. bring up master fader in bus #2 make sure you set bus #2 master fader to the same two channels you have going out to kaoss pad in's . bring up channels 7/8 in bus#1 and you should be hearing the drum machine being processed.
i hope it's not too confusing. let me know if it works or not.

Nailgun,
Have you ever hooked up your kaoss pad to control the surround panner via MIDI in DP? If you haven't could you try it out in your spare time and let me know if it works? I am looking for a surround panner that is as versatile as the kaoss pad (especially the entrancer!) for my post prod and surround mixing.
Thanks for your help!

nailgun wrote:I've got the same issue. I'm all filled up ins/outs in the 828mkll and want to patch the kaos pad into the inserts.
How do you control the volume?
How do I specificy which channels are wet or dry?
cheers, Nailgun
