Re: 4.7 Wishlist
After using InpectorXL, I see a definite need in DP (and all DAWs really) for visibility into the bit steam at EVERY point along a signal's path within DP. And, we shouldn't have to use a plugin for this (in fact, in order to get the level of visibility I'm thinking of, we couldn't use a plugin). I'm imagining that EVERY Insert, Send, Return, Track Output/Input, etc, would include a small nondescript icon (perhaps a small "S") that would bring up the equivilant of Elemental Audio System's InspectorXL Statistics plugin.
InspectorXL has convinced me that there are many opportunities for "hidden" overs/clips in DP. I don't care what people say about 32 bit float this and 48 bit that. After cleaning up a mix last night using Inspector's Statistics plugin, there's a huge difference in the quality (waddo, I know, I need to post before/after mp3's, and I may just do that. Give me some time though...).

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
The ability to do a quick mix of a project with unrendered MIDI tracks, VI's and audio tracks in real time onto a stereo track without having to reassign all tracks to a new stereo buss. This is my biggest peeve because many times i've had to try and explain to clients why they can't go home with a temp mix unless the've got an extra hour and half to wait while i go thru the steps of rebussing every thing at 1:00 in the morning. How about a record button on the master fader?????

The ability to listen to a mix in DP and know if it's right or wrong.
Yeah, I'm just being an ass but I say "Go with you strengths"
An obligatory woo hoo is coming....

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
You can already do that by simply recording your main onto en empty stereo track. Be sure to turn the play through off or you'll get a feed back. The ability to do a quick mix of a project with unrendered MIDI tracks, VI's and audio tracks in real time onto a stereo track without having to reassign all tracks to a new stereo buss.

Yeah, that's just simple DAW usage. Same as if you were playing the mix off to a DAT recorder, remember those? I've still got 3 gathering dust...Originally posted by supersonic:

You just record back to DP on a stereo track. Mute it so there's no feedback and you're done.
Re: 4.7 Wishlist
I'd like to be able to choose between faster-than-real-time "off-line" bouce-to-disc (as is implemented now), and a realtime bouce (like Pro Tools). The latter would allow me to include outboard gear in my mix, which of course is ignored with the current bounce method.
When I run DP under DAE, then it uses the latter method. I'd like that to be available under MAS as well.

4) metering suitable for professional use, particularly of live inputs.
3) input metering on every plugin, 3rd party OR motu
2) record to a buffer everytime a track is record enabled, so that late punch ins can be fixed after the fact by just dragging back the left edge. Logic has this, and it's a life saver.

I'd like to see in 4.7
1.MIDI control for bypass button.
2.The quick way to edit MIDI chord notes for guitar struming (I used this in Cubase5/32.)

Pro Tools has it as well. When running DP under DAE, DP then has it as well.Originally posted by R.U. Spotless:

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
A way to save a mixing board layout with all its settings including levels, aux's, plug-ins, pans, mutes, etc... as a global clipping which you could then open and apply to any other DP file. This would make it easy to mix one song really thoroughly and then transfer that mix as a quick starting point to other songs that you have already recorded for that same band with the same instruments, etc... This would make it so you wouldn't have to create a new file and spend time manually dragging all the waveforms over to the new sequence. Just save a mix, then apply it to any other file... Bam, Done!

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
What Rainmaker said, only give us the ability to save mixes for recall in any chunk, any file.
