I just got off the phone with MOTU (2:50pm est). They confirmed that they are shipping in order. She said that they are up to "April 8th" right now. I ordered mine on April 13th, so it will be a bit longer. :(

It's always a good idea to back it all up.... And when you open a file, save as a new name in the DP5 format since you probably will not be able to go back to 4.61 once you've opened and saved a file in 5.

So far so good....

DP 5 Here at my place

Post by gives »

I went to get coffee and there it was sitting by my front door. I am installing now. I will post an update to all soon on my thoughts. Definitely want to check out the new VI's to see what they did for us. G

I have only spent about 30min with this but here goes..!

Well, I checked some things out.. No problems for me on operation. Seems a bit zippier! I like that when you change a VI plug-in, the MIDI track name changes automatically. I think that is new. I have been using several programs lately and can't really remember:)

From what I have seen as far as the free plugs go...Well let's just say, I am glad they are free. Not much there for me personally, but heck if you have the time to spend tweaking sounds all day, (which I don't'), could be a lot of fun! No real substantial sound libraries, like the MX4 which is what I was hoping for. That's it. All in all, seems very solid and I am looking forward to the new scoring applications and improvements. Lot••™s of nice improvements that I will enjoy using now! Nice job Motu!

I ordered on the 11th or 12th and haven't seen anything... LOL...I probably won't have time to play with it anyway :-(

I am waiting for them to contact me... I preregistered at the Sounds Expo show in London.... they say they are waiting for shipment from MOTU....

Stephen
Yes thanks Stephen- I got an email from them to say just that: no need to re-verify.

Also, thought you might like to know they said they *should hopefully* get shipment in from MOTU in by the end of this week so I guess that means we should get it start of next (although Saturday would be nice).

I have just received my 2GB RAM I recently ordered too (currently on only 1GB) so combined with DP5 it is going to feel like party time in my studio for a while! Woo HOO! :D

Took the dog for a walk (along with my wife) and when we got back DP5 was sitting on my doorstep. I've been in here reading the manual ever since. About to install. If you don't see me for a while, that's a good thing, as I plan to be kind of busy, if you know what I mean...

Interesting: matwell wrote that on the 18th, they said they were shipping orders received on April 8.

On the 18th, before seeing that post, I emailed the upgrade person asking for an estimated ship date. I'd ordered my upgrade on April 6th, and hadn't heard anything. Since a user in Greece had already received DP5, I was wondering if maybe there'd been a problem processing my order.

I didn't receive a direct reply, but a couple of hours later received the UPS ship notice. So either the receptionist was wrong about their progress in processing orders, or my order got delayed for some unknown reason. Not a huge deal, but annoying, and consistent with the flaky customer service I've sometimes experienced over the years from MOTU.
