Re: 4.7 Wishlist
since motu will have to compile it for intel chips , how about program drivers and apps for Linux SUSE w/ KDE... PLEASE !@!!Q@! Then we can make our own computers solely for the purpose of running DP and MACH ¡ a sound designers dream !
Re: 4.7 Wishlist
For what it's worth, you can change the amplitude size by rolling over the amplitude icon in the SE window and using the scroll wheel. Found this out by accident one day!Originally posted by pastiche27:

1 - Highlight the two mono tracks, and do aMERGE AUDIO on themOriginally posted by Jeff:
- To be able to copy 2 mono tracks into 1 stereo track.
- When highlighting a soundbite in the sequence editor it highlights in the the soundbite window.
- When highlighting with the I beam tool in sequence editor it show the duration of the highlighted section.
-Switch to the Finder
-RENAME the tracks there to whatever you want, but append .L and .R to them
-drag either of them to the soundbites window, or a stereo track directly
-Select the resulting stereo track IMMEDIATELY
-do MERGE AUDIO one last time on the new stereo track (or you'll be sorry!)
-delete the original mono tracks
- - long, but it works
2 - from the DP Tips thread:
View Selection in Sequence Editor
Works in: Track Window, Event List, MIDI Editors, Quickscribe, Drum, and partially works in Soundbite Window
In the Commands Window, go to the Navigation section. The very last command in that group is "View Selection in Sequence Editor." Reassign the keystroke of that command to something that a human being could actually do on a regular basis. I personally use "S" for it, since I've never used the "Scrub" tool even once in my life. Now highlight a track or section of tracks in the Tracks Overview, and hit your new magic key. HAPPINESS!!!!
Editor's note: Default command is CONTROL-COMMAND-E
3 - I don't know how to do this, but this is one of those commen features in Pro Tools that would be great to have.
Re: 4.7 Wishlist
A really hip way to do this is to simply have the UNDO LIST do autosave. Then, after a crash, all have to do is consult the UNDO list, and tweak it back to the spot you want. After all, it REMEMBERS what you did, right?Originally posted by Lamp Post Studio:
Auto save. for us that all to often forget to save....(crash), oh shoot when was tha last time I saved?
Re: 4.7 Wishlist
The edit window DOES have this, it's only the TO window that doesn't.Originally posted by Jayman:

Wanna laugh? In Pro Tools, when you change "show/hide" in the mixer, it ALSO changes to the same view in the edit window. And vice versa. No such things as separate show/hide views. Be glad we are not stuck with that. I use/own PTHD, and cannot believe the PT community tolerates that.
Re: 4.7 Wishlist
-be able to use pitch automation when running under DAE
-solo buttons in plugin windows
-have volume and pan data in the SE by DEFAULT, like Pro Tools, so I don't constantly have to make a bogus automation move in the mixer just so I can create a tweakable volume line in the SE.
I think DAE support of key features (like Pitch Automation) is super vital. PTHD is the norm in pro studios all over the world, and DP will run on the very same Pro Tools hardware that is already in place in said rooms. With features like Pitch Automation running on DAE (it currently doesn't), DP could become a valuable tool in even die hard Pro Tools. Ever run Auto Tune on PT? It's slow and horrible. I own PTHD, and would much rather import a vocal and a bouced stereo file into DP than run AT in PT. It would take far less time, and come out much better. MOTU needs to go after this market agressively, and this is a way to do it.

- The ability to drag multiple soundbites from the soundbites window on multiple tracks (like ProTools). First soundbite on the selected Track, the next soundbite on the next track...
- An easy way to perform the same action on multiple tracks, e.g. assign sends, inserts, volume pan etc. without creating a group first

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
here's one for us producers.......
One I have been yearning for since 3.5
Now that The RD team has worked on pitch correction, can we move back on tempo detection a bit?
What if, instead of triggering MIDI tracks off the very dodgey Trigger Plug-in, we took advantage of tempo detection. On every beat track, there is now notes of the impacts, set thru trig sensitivity. So why not make it an offline routine that would create a sound replacer routine (as in big brother Pro-Tool), that could efficiently create either an audio track with 3 to 5 different samples, or a genuinely efficient MIDI track to go to VI instrument.
It is high time we got our own sound replacer, isn't it.

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
PCM: In the Sequence Editor, no need for the bogus move. Just select Volume (which you'd have to do, anyway) to display the Volume automation track. Then hold down "R" or tap it twice, and start drawing your automation. Click at the left-most point in the track and drag a pixel or two. You'll get a 2-point line which will set the volume for the rest of the song if there are no other points following it. As soon as you release the "R" (or double-tap the "A" key) you can start editing.Originally posted by pcm:

The mnemonics are "R" for "Reshape," (drawing tool) and "A" for "Arrow" (cursor).
If you want to do a LOT of tracks in a hurry, in the Sequence Editor, hold down the W key while selecting "Volume." All VISIBLE tracks will switch to Volume display. Then hold R and draw a quick 2-point line in each track, then edit if needed.

Of course, that's about the only thing I find refreshing and creatively liberating about Logic!

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
We're almost there! You can select multiple soundbites and move them all to one track. From there you can drag each to an adjacent track. Saves a few cross-window moves.Originally posted by cases05:

You can create temporary groups very easily:
1) Group selected tracks by holding down T or tapping T twice. Then your actions will be performed on all tracks that were selected.
2) Group VISIBLE tracks (all tracks that are actually on screen at that moment) by holding down W or tapping W twice.
3) set up the actions you want to be affected under these groupings (or not affected) by opening the Group Editor (Project menu, or OPTION -SHIFT-G) then selecting "Set Temporary Group Type" under the mini-menu. The options you set will be performed on any group you make from that point on.
4) to ungroup, tap T or W respectively, one more time.
Beware... when changing things like track colors, a group will all go to the same color, and that's not undoable.
In regard to clearing clutter in the Tracks Overview Window, you may not be able to turn the tracks off, as in the Sequence Editor or Mixing Board windows, but you can MOVE the tracks quickly and easily. Select the tracks you would like to group together. They can be anywhere in your layout. Now click CONTROL-OPTION-HOME to group them together. Then CONTROL-HOME (or END, or PAGE UP, or PAGE DOWN) to move them around in the list. Control-Home = top. Control-END = bottom. Control-Up & down are self-explanatory)
You can quickly rearrange your Tracks Overview Window this way.

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
How about a nice little window for auditioning samples and once you find what you're looking for, click the insert button and it will be put into the track.
