And how about allowing the user to increase the height of each track like I can do in Cuase SX3.

Also when I double click an audio track I just want to see that enlarged track not that track plus all the other tracks. Perhaps that could be done by hold down shift key and double click that audio track to just enlarge that track.

What's the problem MR MOTU why can't you programme that into DigitalPerformer?

The track view in Digital Perfomrer is so puny now that I can barely see anything. Then if I change my monitor size/resolution then it becomes so huge the apple menu bar can't hold every item.

If Cubase since away back would allow me to iexpand the track height what's wrong with your MR MOTU?

Sorry guys just a pet beef from betty boop.

In the Graphic Editor, moving MIDI notes up and down does not work properly anymore. Drag the note up or down until you hear the note you want. Let go of the note. Now play it back. AT LEAST, 50% of the time, the note ends up being a half-step off in either direction. This is extremely frustrating. I know others have observed this, as well. I, too, would welcome the up-down arrow feature but first this behavior must be rectified.
That one is killing me! Editing within the new higher zoom levels is where I find this problem to be the most troublesome. There is now a disconnect between what you see and what you hear. Graphically, the note doesn't snap until you let go, making it hard to sometimes know where it's gonna land. Since you hear the note only when selected, you have no way of knowing if it snapped to the desired note or one a half step away. Frustrating, to say the least.

I have to agree. The graphic editors obviously allow you to show/hide tracks, but sometimes it would be nice to clear out the clutter in the track window too. Having used Logic a little, I find it refreshing and creatively liberating not having to pick through dozens of tracks in the tracks (arrange) window to find the one I want.

Of course, that's about the only thing I find refreshing and creatively liberating about Logic!

Having been a fomer Cubase user I can see right away that you haven't
even peeked at the DP manual yet.
Are you in the track overview window or the arrange window.
If you're in the arrange window (I'm not in front of DP at the
moment) hold down either the apple key or the control key
and double click on the audio file.
That will bring up the 2 track editor.
Or use the Control panel/transport bar and click on the
button with the wave on it (if you have the transport panel
fully extended) that will also bring up the audio file in the 2
track editor..or in another 2 track editor if you so choose.
The track overview window is exactly that, an overview.
Protools has something pretty similar actually.
Read the manual, it's your friend.

And about those snaps, crackles and pops. DP should not be anything like Rice Krispies. Not even distant cousins. Think silent. Quiet. Noiseless. Staticless. Clear. Crystal. -130 dB. I've seen the Holy Grail, and I'll settle for nothing less. It can be done, and DP can do it. I want crystal clear audio, and I want it now.

I had a thought about that (please hold the applause):

1) For one brief shining moment, you experienced the Nirvana of blissful snap-crackle-pop-free audo, and that was using an Apple-configured Aggregate Device in DP.

2) MOTU's tech note on Apple's implementation of said Aggregate Devices says, in essence, "Well, that's nice, but we don't need no steenking Aggregate Devices; we've been supporting multiple hardware I/O sources for many moons." Yet...

3) With MOTU Brand Multiple I/O Device Support[TM] there's...

Well, Rice Krispies comes to mind.

I'll have to leave conclusions from the above syllogism to others.

Let's see... I think it goes something like this:

1) Some dogs support fleas
2) Our dog supports fleas
3) Our dog is SOME DOG!

1- Solo in place
2- The ability to save solo setups : say you have all the backing vocals soloed, if you want to want to solo them again, save as a solo setup and come back to them later instead of pressing buttons all over again to hear them, pretty much like mute groups but more flexible
3- Marker pre roll
4- Solo button in all plug in windows
5- Step and pattern sequencing in MIDI like the good old days
6- Acess to markers from ALL windows

I have found all my Rice krispy treats have come from DP $.5 -4.6's very odd ability to change the digital clock ... Every time i start up its switches to something different. Also in mid editing it will switch. Every time i hear crackling and popping sure enough i check the hardware driver setings and the cløck mode has changed.... it happens almost once an hour !!!!!!!!!!!! I'm using an 896 HD an 828mk2 and a prism sound firewire. Obviously my preferred setting is clocking through word cløck from the prism sound ADA-8XR . but even if i save this setting it will change constantly . This also happens if im just using motu hardware. Ive lso tried clocking from m kyma capybara 320 through aes/ebu in butstill changes midstream. My clock changes midsteam like an an anti-abortionist who is told " you should be raped and carry and care for the baby" SORRY :-P
