Why would you want DP for WIN if you have an Intel MAC?

Duh, because on a Win computer, you get viruses pre-installed! I mean, can you really run 49583 viruses on OSX at the same time? I don't even think the TDM cards could go that high!

:P

Do you really think Motu wants to port over their code to winapi? Just because they use the same processor doesn't mean the API's are the same. As a programmer, I wouldn't. Not saying they wont, but there is a lot of overhead involved.

I'm just giving you a realistic viewpoint, if you are really curious, I'd talk to Motu personally, I am not affiliated with them in any other way than being a customer (although I am about to emark on writing my first MAS plugin very shortly).

Rick, I'm not going to ask you what you're going to write, as that would be stupid. Don't give away what you've got before you even have it done. But I will ask if you're going to be doing this on a commercial level, and if so, will you be looking for any ideas?

No, I think you mean this formula:

Intel "MAC" = DP 5.1 on OS X

MOTU also confirmed for Macworld that it would be making Intel versions of its applications available for customers. The company said that Intel versions of its instrument products would be available in the first quarter of 2006. An Intel version of Digital Performer 5 will be available in the second quarter of 2006.

OK the next machine will be an APPLE MobileComputer - it seems to be the only way to get seriously pro software. Even if MotU is doing the XP support as bad as digidesign
Cubase SX 3.0, ASUS M6V Centrino,
MotU 896 HD,
digidesign PRE,
Presonus Digimax LT,
RME ADI96 PRO,
Houston Controller,
and a too small Roland PC160A Midicontroller, Genelec 1030APM, incl. Subwoofer
under XP,

It is my understanding that MOTU is planning DP Universal Binary version for Intel Macs running OSX, and this has nothing to do with Windows...

My first project is an enhanced ARP for DP. I think it's a good starting point. I can't say how long it will take as I need to come up to speed on OSX programming. Most of my work has been with the Win31 API and the MFC wrapper, but, I've done quite a bit of linux programming with GTK++ and other assorted libraries.

Basically, I'd like to see some more MIDI plugin options available for people like me who do a LOT of MIDI work.

:)
