4.6 is awesome.

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
1) Pitch-shifting bugs hosed. (One of my songs with pitch shift still causes a flaming crash at exactly the same point every time I try to play it. Duplicating the track and deleting the original did nothing. Then there's the erratic behavior reported by others in several threads.)
2) Up/Down arrow key MIDI editing! (Discussed at some length in this thread.)
3) Sort out and resolve the whole Aggregate Device brouhaha fomenting in other threads. At the very least, make DP stop assigning non-existent "audio hardware" as the default output for AU Instrument Tracks, resulting in FUBAR AWOL AU VI GUIs. (Anybody want to vie for longest acronym string?)
4) Provide a way to block/turn off/make invisible ReWire channels, particularly in the Audio Modules/Insruments tab. (I have to drag chiclets (slowwwwwwwwly) scrolling almost two screen widths to get past all the %&$^@*$ Reason and Melodyne channels to get to a VI instantiation. (There may be some way to deal with this already but I haven't found it. This is when I have neither Reason or Melodyne running, and have no use for them in a particular session, but they eat up acres of screen real estate anyway.)
That's my short list.

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
Cool acronyms, contigoni.
I'd be happy if this next update contained NO NEW FEATURES. I'd like them to spend one round of development entirely on bug fixes. Most of all, I'd like to see them get to the bottom of crackles and pops. After experiencing the Holy Grail for even one evening, using an Aggregate Device before it tripped out my file like it was on LSD, I saw and heard how wonderful DP can be if everything functions perfectly with the cleanest audio possible. It was amazing.
That's what I want. I just want everything to work, as advertised. Period.

Did you try BTD for the offending track(s)- maybe even in solo?Originally posted by contigoni:

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
Yep, there's a way to deal with it already. Instead of dragging, double-click the destination Cell in the matrix and the chicklet will hop right over to that Cell. MOTU added in 4.6 (they were reading your mind, which is a pretty scarey thought in itselfOriginally posted by contigoni:

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
I've been using that little feature, qo. Very nice. Now, if MOTU would just make the columns and rows highlight when you click on an output name, an interface channel, or a chiclet. I need to hold a ruler up to the screen just to get across the whole thing!

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
I'd like to see all of the above plus, speed up the track freeze function.
Others here have talked about how fast Logic freezes VI tracks and I got to see it for myself this past weekend. It took about 7 seconds on a track that was 80 bars long. The cpu was a dual 2gig with 2 gigs of ram. That was impressive.

Re: 4.7 Wishlist
Here's the biggie I'd like to see in 4.7:
USER DEFINABLE AUTOMATED ACTION SCRIPTS. I seem to spend alot of time doing repeditive task in DP that you could train a monkey to do. That's where action scripts come in. Photoshop has this ability which is a big reason I would deem Photoshop one of the most intelligently designed programs I've ever used. When I got DP I just assumed MOTU was hip to this concept as well. NOPE!
Sure, Automator in Tiger does that sort of thing, but from what I've read of it, it doesn't seem to go to the level of detail that I need.
If any of you out in DP land also happen to use Photoshop extensively, you know what I'm talking about. I'd happily pay for the upgrade if this was the only new feature in 4.7. For me it would change everything.
Cheers
Larry

The ability to hide tracks you are not using (or are just not working with at the moment.) Not just in the mixer, but in the tracks and edit window. Paris had this and it was so great. I've always missed it.
