Unseen MIDI controls being sent on play
Ok, Maybe some one can give me a definative answer to this quandry. Many times, when I press play, DP sends some kind of MIDI control that mono's the panning on my Alesis QS8.1. I have disabled all MIDI automation, and even all automation in my bug hunt. In some projects it doesn't do it, in others, it does and I cannot for the life of me find the culprit. I cannot filter certain MIDI events on the QS8. I notice DP sends some kind of MIDI message to all listed MIDI tracks in the tracks window, whether active or not upon pressing play. If you have experienced this problem I'ld like to hear if you found the solution.

You might have another MIDI track assigned to that instrument that the instrument is "seeing". That's usually the case for me when vol or pan isn't behaving.

You might want to look at Set Event Chasing... in the Setup menu. I've had problems with this and VI's in the past. If a MIDI track has no volume data on it, and I have Event Chasing activated for MIDI volume, some of my VI's crank their volume up to +12db (which I guess is better than "going to 11").
Anyway, take a look. Also, page 186-187 of the DP manual contains info on Event Chasing.
Hope this helps!
