recording audio from MIDI timing problem

recording audio from MIDI timing problem

Hi, i'm running DP 4.5 on a mac powerbook 1.33 Ghz 1.25gig ram with a 828mk2 and motu MIDI express.In my motu firewire console the clock source is set to internal.When recording audio from my synths being triggered by MIDI tracks in dp i'm finding the recorded audio timing is not completly solid ie. it wavers slightly before on and after the beat it should land on.it is only very slightly out (pretty much inaudible) but it is definately out,i can see it when magnifing the wave.A friend told me it might be the laptop proccessing causing the timing waver thru the firewire to 828 or usb to the MIDI express. Any ideas.Thanks
