Is it not part of the entire MOTU Audio Installer package??
I know I had demos of AD on my 828MKII cd for both OS X and 9 but the app itself got installed when I did the basic install from the CD with the drivers.

AHA! thats weird, by default the installer chooses custom and installing Audiodesk is not an option

If i pick easy install then yep it does install it, weird

Thing is i didnt want to install the drivers on there as i am using an intel based mac yet now its installed them so may have screwed things up :(

I dont believe AudioDesk is even a Universal Binary, so be warned.
Its going to run in Rosetta and take quite a bit of a performance hit.. And if theres any Altivec code in there, AD wont work anyways..

I know what you mean.. Last time I reinstalled my system, I started off just using the latest driver from MOTU's website, and then decided to install AudioDesk from my original cd.. Wont let me do it any other way then installing the ENTIRE CD (which as you can guess trashed my 828MKII driver install) and then updating from there.. Pain in the ass MOTU pain in the ass..

Why not a seperate AudioDesk cd after all this time??
Its not like people can share it since it cant run without a MOTU interface anyways... :)

Got it all going, theres a 2.04 beta on the motu website (needs previous version installed) seems to run just fine :)

AudioDesk Install Disc

Post by daviswhite »

Yes, I didn't get a separate disk either, although I still registered from the serial # on the AudioDesk manual.

The CD seemed useless to me as it contained no Universal Binary programs. I downloaded the Intel drivers and Traveller software direct from ther MOTU site. These all work great with the Traveller.

I was going to install the program and try running AudioDesk under Rosetta after having many troubles with GarageBand 3 loosing tracks on my Intel Duo Mac Mini. Looks like I will have to wait for Universal Binary DP. It really can not arrive soon enough.

From reading the replies - there is a "hidden" AudioDesk" installer on the driver CD that came with the Traveller. This would write over all my "good" drivers, so I really won't bother - unless the Upgrade to DigitalPerformer requires AudioDesk be installed.

I dont know that the install for AudioDesk is 'hidden' really..

You just cant install it without doing a complete install of the Drivers and Audiodesk..

Not very good if you ask me since it will ruin your system if youve already downloaded and installed newer drivers..

Now you got me wondering though if you can go through the terminal and see the installer on the cd that way.. They can hide stuff from the Mac OS gui but at the command line you see all! Ill have to check that out when I get home...

Wonder if were ever going to get another update of AudioDesk since 2.04 is a public beta and has been that way for a couple years now..
