how sounds the ultra llite compare to the 828 mk2 ?
except the fact that the ultra lite has less inputs / outputs and that is smaller , is there any difference of sound between those 2 cards ?
I have no idea about this but I asked myself this smae question when I learned of its existence.
I'm using a 828 mk1, and I think I've read that 828 mk1 and 828 mk2 do not have the same sound quality.
So between a 828 mk1 and and UltraLiteWould it be a huge difference in sound quality, preamps, noise-floor, etc ?
The preamp on 828 are great but they don't have much gain, around 40-50 dB only I think...How much gain on the UltraLite ?
I'm also wondering if the bugs will be the same as with previous MOTU FW interface ?
The 828 mk1 run flawlessly on my desktop, but won't record without random pops and crackling on my laptop using a PCMCIA FW card with a Texas Instrument chipset, wich is unusual as this chipset is supposed to be OK for MOTU FW stuff.
I was wondering if this bug is really likely to happen with a UltraLite ?
Anyone could give some advice ?
Thanks
