Consoles don't open after installing 1.4.1

Post by kinohaitsma »

I have just installed the Universal Audio 1.4.1 for my 828mkll (running Logic Pro 7.2.0 on Ti 10.4.5.) and the CueMix Console and SMPTE Console won't open anymore. The interface itself appears to be operating correctly with Logic. But I would like to use the Consoles. Anyone?

Have you tried to repair disk permissions?

Go to HD/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility and choose your HD where the apps are installed and hit Repair Disk Permissions.

Had the same problem - the fix from MOTU tech support.

Hi,

1. Disconnect your interface from the Mac
2. Go to your Applications folder and trash all 6 consoles ( MOTU Audio setup / MOTU FW Console)
3. Go to Mac HD>System>Library>Extensions - locate and trash the MOTUFirewireAudio.kext file.

4. Go to Mac HD>Library>Audio>MIDI drivers and trash the MOTU MIDI driver.plugin

5. Go to Mac HD>Users>Home>Library>Prefernences> locate and trash the folder named com.motu.FW Audio. Also trash the file MOTU FW console.prefs (also found in the Users Preferences).

6. Empty trash
7. Open Utilities and launch Disk Utility. Select the internal OS drive and hit repair disk permissions.

8. Go online and download a fresh version of the installer, reinstall driver with unit disconnected.
9. Restart and once fully rebooted, repair disk permissions once again
10. Quit disk utility and then connect the unit
11. Launch the MOTU Audio setup and test
