DP vs Logic Xpress

Post by jonotron »

Got Logic express on an educational discount (about 2/3rds off the price).
The audio editing is rather poor, the plugins are dreadful, and the MIDI setup is strange. And there is no user forum like this.
However, on my poor old powerbook G4 800 I can now run reason in rewire mode (after a bit of messing about) with a few instruments and effects and have no trouble with maxing out my system.
I have serious trouble with DP unless I am using built in audio. Upgrading to a new version of DP (at about the same price as logic xpress) would be hit and miss, and I'm not going to dump my computer until it breaks. Logic xpress seems to be a very well optimised bit of software for older systems.

Can you track and edit in DP (SDII format) and import the tracks into Logic? You can set up Logic to work with SDII I believe..
