OK What Dumb Thing Am I Doing Wrong Here?
VI track with IVORY (Instrument Track).
Assign output of this instrument track to BUS-1&2
New Audio Track.
New Audio TRACK INPUT SET TO BUS1&2
Record Enable new audio track.
Hit play (MIDI tracks are playing Ivory)
See levels on IVORY, no levels and no sound going into the NEW AUDIO TRACK.
This is really basic stuff.
What could I be missing here?
Have also tried setting up SENDS from the VI to BUS One, and turning up the SEND VOLUMES, and still the audio track receives nothing.
Thanks
Tom

You can leave Ivory's output to an Audio out (like Analog 1-2)
If you want to record (in real time) your performance via bussing...
(You could Freeze tracks, also real time)
Assign input to the new Audio track to Bus 1-2
Go to the mixer window and select bus 1 and 2 on Ivory's Instrument track as sends and crank up the send level.
You should now be able to hear (via the audio out) and see and record the Ivory MIDI.

Well this is really bizarre.
So I change the output from the VI to the main outs. Fine.
Insert a send, assign to buss 1-2.
Just for kicks, add a stereo AUX track, assign its input to BUSS 1+2.
Crank up the sends on the VI, and voila, the VI shows up on the AUX track as it should.
Add an audio track. Set it up the same way as the AUX, with Buss 1-2 as its input.
Put the audio track in record.
Nothing. So the AUX sees the signal from the VI, and the Audio track doesn't.
I'm getting weary with DP already.

Could be wrong here but I believe AUDIO TRACK needs to see signal from the Audio interface unit (ex. 896HD or something). You would have to send out and then physically make that patch return into your Audio Track 1-2. I think....

MacBook Pro FULL, 896HD, 828mkii, DP7... Just go to the web site and look at the pretty pictures ; )

If I'm reading you right, the problem isn't your tracks, but your monitoring prefs. To continue without changing your monitoring prefs, just add an Aux track with bus 1&2 for inputs. You should be able to hear it, then.oceantracks wrote:VI track with IVORY (Instrument Track).

No need for sends. No need to change output on Ivory. Just add an Aux track for monitoring purposes, or else change your monitoring prefs to monitor play-enabled tracks at all times.

It must be something in the prefs.
It wasn't that I wasn't hearing it, I just couldn't buss it to an AUDIO track to record it (rather than freezing it which is pointless because it's in real time anyway).
I could not see levels on the record enabled audio track the VI was bussed to. But I hit record, and the audio track did record it. You just couldn't see anything on the meters. Must be something in my setup....

Propably irrelevant but..
Did You select a correct output to the audio track You are recording to? DP doesn‘t allow to record on a track if the output is incorrectly assigned.
