okay. got my first problem figured out.
now the second one:
i put the dvd that came with machfive in my mac but it does not show up on my desktop. how do i read this file?
i have g4 dual 867 mirror door

Did you set de the OSX finder preferences , that cd's and dvd 's appear on the desktop ?.....or you DVD is corrupt ...in that case contact Motu.
