not to dis' my 828, but it's shite without a working SPDIF

should i put my eye on an RME? this is not cool to me, that i am abandoned with a faulty product. i'm pissed at NI Battery right now too, cuz it won't save my key assaignments, and i can't make my master Kit.

i know mercury is in retrograde right now,so these issues are amplified. Bug city!

Not using SPDIF and she runs fine.
Using the SPDIF-in causes erratic activity. (just using digital out of a CD player or digital recorder). I get random dissapperance of sound ouput, and when I played with the samples buffer in my powerbook, it at least brought back a cacophony of distortion. played with the buffer some more, it fixed the sound. I••™ve tried different settings in the SMPTE console, etc. also. Is SPDIF unusable? It seems not.

I tried an update, installing MOTU firewire 1.2.5, and it says that it ••œis installing on the drive••
