Mactel and 4.6
I've been running 4.6 on 1GHz Powerbook. Just purchesed Macmini with solo Intel processor last week, loaded DP4.6 and it runs circles around my Powerbook. Not all of my plugins are working, particularly ones from smaller companies, but Dp itself has been flawless.

I do believe that is the most exciting thing I have seen on these boards in quite a bit!

I've been using DP 4.6 (I downloaded 4.61 installer but haven't tried it yet... maybe later tonight) on my macbook.
DP runs pretty well, occasional slowdowns with the GUI but nothing too bad. The problems are most noticeable when switching to another program and back. The audio runs pretty well, latency on built-in hardware isn't as good as on my 1.67 g4 powerbook but it's great for editing.
The one problem (and it's kind-of a big one for mobile users) - the MacBook divides up the hardware into three different coreaudio "devices" - "Built-in Output," "Built-in Input," and "Built-in Mic." This makes it impossible to record with built-in hardware. I'm waiting for compatibility with my external interfaces so I can't record with this guy.
Is this a problem with the iMac also?
I suppose there could be an external software fix - something like Soundflower could conceivably do this.

Sorry, I thought I was clear:
I see three discrete devices under CoreAudio in my "Configure Hardware Driver" window:
Built-in Mic
Built-in Input
Built-in Output
I can pick Output and edit and play back to my heart's content, but this device has no inputs. If I switch my driver to Built-in Input or Mic, I get an error message saying that it has no outputs. DP can't use two devices simultaneously, so I cannot record.
And to clarify - macbook pro 2ghz, 1gb ram, OS X 10.4.5, DP 4.6

Im using Traveller-which MOTU released intel Mac driver in a snap- and want to use MBP with traveller and DP 4.61...Recording 4 tracks&8 tracks of audio simultaneously...That was my very first question anyway
Could Rosetta 4&8 tracks of recording audio? Is anyone tried recording anything to MBP...Not talking about editing or mixing...Just recording...With an external device like the Traveller to the DP ...

BUT Why MOTU guys wouldn't add something like 'Software Update' like Os X do!!! UPDATE to 4.62 with UB and 'at least some BUGS' fixed...
Relase 4.5 in UB with its 'fansy' Virtual Instruments-which most of us really and really don't need them- for the NEW consumers-Thing upgrade from panther to tiger-...
Do i expect a lot or being reasonable!!!
Any toughts???
MOTU hearing this?
