Anyone Get Conductor Track Causing Processor Spikes

Post by Flare »

This has been happening for as long as I've been using the latest DP (4.61) on my system (OSX.4.4):

I'm using conductor track to change tempo on a piece, and when it changes tempo the processor tacks red.

Is there a way to stop this from happening; it seems like a really F'ed up bug to me. I've confirmed others having this problem.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

I guess it's only myself and the several people I know, using DP, have this problem?

That's really nutty.

I've noticed that it happens mostly when I have mach V open. Like the synced FX in Mach V take too long to calculate when the tempo changes, and that's what causes the spikes.

If you have audio functions that relate to tempo, then tempo changes will have an effect on those audio functions. Synchronized delays or LFOs may glitch audio when tempo changes. I've seen this with included DP plug-ins as well as third party plugs and instruments.

It sometimes happens to me when I'm using the conductor track to accelerate or decelerate tempo over a number of measures. It doesn't seem to have any negative effect on playback (at least that I can remember).

FLASH:
CPU METERS CAUSE SPIKES!!!

I closed mine and all the spikes went away. So did that pesky red color in the meters. I was able to get a lot of work done, and didn't have to worry about spikes one single time.

only halfway--->;)-ing
