im setting up a friends system ...he just bought a new g4(intell) and i wanted to know if the rme fireface runs well with dp...........ty bobby

You may want to try the Digital Performer forum. This one is mainly for MOTU hardware.

I'm a bit confused. what is a "new G4(intel)". If you are referring to the new Macintosh computers with intel processors, the I'm afraid you won't be able to run Digital Performer at all for the next several months. Not until the release their Universal version of DP4. As far as RME compatibility with the Intel Mac's, you'll have to check out RME's website.
