early model G5s cheaper than g4 refurbs

Post by gaucho »

do the early model G5s (1.6 Ghz) work well with DP and 424 cards? They are actually cheaper than the later G4 refurbs.

The salesgirl told me that many applications still run smoother on the G4, (she was not referring to music apps), and thus the demand is still higher for the older boxes, much to my surprise.

I hear great things from you all about the newer, hipper G5s. I got that. But processing power, speed, and RAM all being (almost) equal, what are the unseen differences between the G4/older G5 models?
