Hi,
I have run into a bunch of old sermons that were transfered from the original tape (in one case an Edison wax cylinder).
Many were very poorly transfered and need help. There is on some a very annoying artifact that is like a winding sound or squealing I'd like to identify and remove.
I can't even figure out how to import long (over an hour) MP3's into DP.
If you can help, or refer me to a link, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Buzz

I've heard Sound Soap by Bias, Inc. is pretty good at cleaning up noise (hence the name!). I've got the "light" version but I've never even used it yet, but I hope to in the future. My Dad's got a bunch of old 78rpm jazz records I want to transfer and burn to CD. And Waves makes a good high-end noise reduction package. Kinda pricey, though.
As far as importing the MP3's, you should be able to import a file that long. I've never tried it. Does it give you an error message when you try to do that?

For the Edison wax cylinder (and any vinyl transfers) there's a great $25 program that removes the pops and clicks called ClickRepair. I haven't used it myself yet, but there is a rather dramatic demonstration of the program on this page (it's near the bottom of the page) of before and after examples.Buzz Mando wrote:Hi,
