Anyone using the Tascam DV-RA1000 or mixing down to 192/24

Here's where to talk about preamps, cables, microphones, monitors, etc.

Looking for opinions on the sound of it. I'm not intrested in the mastering tools included. I like 48/24 mixes that you can pop in different dvd players to check. More like vinyl. If it's clean that is HEH HEH. Who is mixing down to 192/24? I havent listened in that format yet.
OTARI 1 inch 8 track. Apogee AD16. MOTU 2408. DP 5.13 Apogee DA16 yamaha pm2000.
G5 dual 2.5. PPC. 7g ram. 2 UAD-.OSX 10.4.11 Lavry DA-10. AKG K240.
Way too many guitars and amps.

This is a GREAT sounding box! Honestly, I'm re-considering the purchase of one myself now that I've changed my setup. I use ProToolsHD Accel, I usually bounce internally....however I recently picked up a Summit Audio TPA200B 2-channel tube-pre, but after running my mix through the line inputs on it for mixdown, wow! Well it's a nightmare to run a mix through the line ins and back into ProTools just to re-record it and then dither down still, so I'm considering this solely as a mixdown deck. Even at 44.1/16-bit, it's one of the better recorders I've heard.

A long-time client and colleague of mine, Dr. Fred Bashour, wrote a review for PRO AUDIO REVIEW about this (got it from me) and raves about it. He is VERY picky about gear, so I think that says a lot.
Thank you,
