Post by zaksplit »

An error has occurred in the Audiowire console: The Audiowire card is currently in use. Quit other applications and try again.
What is the reason of this fault, I cant use the card and cannot set inputs in cubase
thanks

Are you trying to launch the MOTU applet from within Cubase, or while Cubase is running? The MOTU applet will throw this message if anything is talking to the drivers.

You need to make sure any app that talks to the audio drivers is closed - then you can open the applet from the MOTU menu item.

I run Sonar and I should be able to launch the MOTU ASIO applet from within Sonar, but it never works. I get the same error you are seeing. Funny thing is though, I'm sure a number of driver revisions ago it used to work.

So Bumping this as I don't see an answer... and I have the same error. It just happened after running fine for months. No, not running ANY applications. Reboot, go into MOTU Console, and get this error. It is a Windows 7 64B, but it's been running fine for over a year now until now... Clean OS, .... where do I start????

I realise this is an ancient thread but I have been getting this message myself (Windows 7, PCIe 424, 3x1224, 1x1208). It recurs on every boot-up. To resolve it I go to the Sound applet in Control panel, pick the MOTU channels that are set as default and open the Properties window. On the Advanced tab, I switch from 44.1 to 48 and select "Test". A warning pops up that the device is in use and something may break. I then run the test anyway. After that, the MOTU Audio Console will open. Hope That Helps.....

I ran into an issue similar/related to this. In my case I also experienced that it "had worked in the past"...

If you are using your MOTU gear within a DAW environment, you likely don't need Windows to see any of these devices. My solution was to disable everything in there. When I load up Studio One, it initializes a bunch of stuff, loads the MOTU driver and is able to talk to the hardware without issue - or interference from Windows.

If you still want to listen to Windows sound (outside of DAW environment) grab Voicemeeter Banana. Has been working great this way for over a year and half.
