Kontakt 8.4.0 released today

Post by James Steele »

Kontakt 8.4.0 released today

You can launch Native Access and read about what's new. I'm too tired to try to screen capture the list, covert to text, and then post here. Besides... I post 75% of the posts in this topic anyway and I'm gonna scale back how much effort I put into it. Only so many hours in the day, you know? ;)

I did a full Time Machine backup before updating. It'll be a while before I trust Native Instruments 100% again when it comes to Kontakt updates.

Hallelujah indeed Brother James. :headbang:

I purposely didn't rush out and buy 'verb plugins in the hope that this would happen one day. Good things come to those who wait.

... which won't even run on my 'puter and the legacy version won't do the Lex plugins, so great.

All I want is to be able to download the actual installers, which based on the video I saw looks like it could be an option in the application's settings.

If there's a trick I'd love to know it. Otherwise I guess I'll sort all this out when I move to AS.

Continued pain with all things NI

Post by mhschmieder »

Updating to macOS 15.5 and the latest Native Access tonight (with appropriate System Settings overrides and reboots) didn't help at all, so after a fruitless AI-driven chat session on NI's site, I was finally allowed to file a support ticket.

Debugging this issue has cost me whatever time I might have been able to allot this week to production work, so I don't have the hours to switch back to Kontakt 7 for the short term. I have to hope that NI responds and can get my library licenses working in K8 on my new box as well as the NA updaters not failing out for unexplained reasons.

I do not have iCloud+ so the much-recommended change to privacy settings does not apply to my phone or my desktop; it is not an available option under iCloud settings, and of course I turn off AI and Siri and other such nonsense.

Hopefully other people are in better shape now after this week's NA and K8 updates, but the bugfix list didn't appear to mention any of the issues people have brought up here.

Exactly what I knew would happen if I caved.

Ironic timing really 'cause I anticipate upgrading my 13-year-old Mac this year and I'd have had no choice but to look for alternatives, assuming I actually started making music again (last completed projects were 1994).

Not that much hallelujah, James.
In Europe, LXP price is 358 € and PCM is 599 € (tax included).
Just saying good sales are welcome.
