real time MIDI recorded early

Post by koheinyc »

after upgrading to DP 11.2 ( I am using DP 11.34 97919 now), the recorded MIDI data is located early.

for exapmle,
At BPM♩=120 with real-time MIDI recording, I played extremely right on the grid time, but the data are recorded about one and half 64th notes ahead(early) of grid. The input quantize if off.
It only happens when recording MIDI data. When I record audio from outboard like synthesizer, guitar, vocal and so on, it is ok.
I hope there is a solition here. And any advice will help.
thank you.

input keyboard : KEYSTATION 61 MK3
Mac M4 pro / OS 15.3.2
buffer is 1024

Go to Preferences>Play and Record>MIDI Options>MIDI Patch Through Mode

Check your sync option settings there and read about timing in the manual. This might or might not be the problem, but it's a good thing to check first.

There's that check box for Sync Recorded MIDI to patch thru. Not sure if that's a possible culprit. I leave mine unchecked.

Yes, counter-intuitively uncheck that box and it should fix your problem.

Funny how there are one or two of those settings where for one person it breaks it and for another it fixes it.

Can someone explain what the "Sync Recorded MIDI to patch thru" actually does or how it works?

I meant to say that we moved it from off, to on 18 notes ago, to compensate for the weird timing.

I can't deny I'm not aging so gracefully. It's getting harder for me to remember 18 notes ago.
