Iconnectivity mioxl and DP

Post by jim2b »

My MTP AV is unstable with my new Mac Studio m2.

The new MOTU MIDI interfaces are unavailable to purchase.

Has anyone had experience with the Iconnectivity mioxl interface?

Do we still connect it the same way in the Audio/MIDI setup?

Thanks,

Jim

How long since you've changed the CR2032 battery? Otherwise, if the firmware chip is v.2.0.1 and the USB controller is 1.32 and your cable supports USB 1.1, it should be rock solid unless there's a hardware issue—and these are quite old...

That is if the driver was installed correctly which is tricky over macOS since Monterey. Best way is to have MOTU Support screen share and resolve all of the potential issues—but they won't do this unless you have a currently supported MOTU interface which leads to

Yep. I had to buy a current MOTU MIDI interface, register it and have Support do the screen share I mentioned. Once done, my MTP AV USB worked perfectly, too.

I do know of a current used, unregistered MOTU MIDI unit available. If interested in this knowledge, send me a message.

Besides USB, it also has network connections that require their app. The USB connection does not appear to require a Mac driver which means it should be seen by CoreMIDI. Unless there's a conflict somewhere, it should just work.

In the screen shot of the MIDI Viewer in Audio MIDI Setup.app on my M2 Studio Ultra over Sequoia 15.4, the MOTU MIDI driver is enabling my micro express and MTP AV USB, the MOTU AUDIO Driver is enabling my 828mkII FireWire. My M•Audio 192|14 has no driver—CoreMIDI only. I do not have my iPad connected but it's also CoreMIDI. Likewise, the Neumann MT-48 is not connected but I think it uses CoreMIDI, also—I see no evidence of a MIDI driver when it's running and nothing had to be uninstalled to get the micro express / MTP AV USB up and running.

I took this shot just last week.
