Just finished this one last week. https://soundcloud.com/crduval/evermore ... al_sharing. A melodic hard rock song with some funk and prog elements.
The big takeaway for me with this project was learning how to use dynamic EQ to solve certain problems. For example, on Electric Guitar, rather than just notching out or rolling off harsh upper mids, you can use dynamic EQ so that they are reduced when you play in higher registers, but remain present when you play in low registers to help define the attack. Similar benefit with vocals; nasal resonances that can dominate lower register singing can be controlled without losing weight when shifting into higher registers.
Hope you dig it.

Nice work. After I previewed the tune on my laptop, I had to go back and play it through my system (rather loud through my big Genelecs), Great sounding track.

Re: "Evermore"
Nice production and thanks for pointing out the use of dynamic EQ—sounds great. I also liked the way the track pushes the possibilities of stereo in a way that is interesting but not annoying. That's quite the balancing act.crduval wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 7:27 am Just finished this one last week. https://soundcloud.com/crduval/evermore ... al_sharing.
