I have 12 tracks of background vocals on the choruses of the song I'm currently working on. They were sung "straight" and I want to add vibrato to them to get closer to that "black gospel choir sound". While in pitch mode in the SE window, drawing the vibrato with the pencil tool is very tedious. I found from DP's manual how to use the re-shaping tool to draw in sine waves, but the frequency of the waves seems fixed and is too slow. Does anyone know how to increase the frequency of the waves for faster vibrato? Moving the cursor up and down (while drawing) only changes the amplitude of the sine waves, not the frequency.

How to change frequency of sine waves while using re-shaping tool?

I'm just spitballing here, but but have you tried going into DP's pitch correction view in the Sequence Editor? When you do that you'll see the bars that represent the pitches but on top of that you should see a superimposed squiggly line that represents vibrato. Usually I'm trying to lessen it, but I think you can hold down a modifier key (option?) and click that line and drag up or down to either increase or decrease the vibrato (pitch fluctuation).Tidwells@aol.com wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 11:17 am I have 12 tracks of background vocals on the choruses of the song I'm currently working on. Granted if they have no vibrato *whatsoever* or if you want it to be perfectly rhythmic and uniform that might not work. I'm just spit balling here. Perhaps there's a pitch fluctuation plugin you could pot on either individual vocal tracks or a vocal group aux track (preferably with some sort of *mix* control) and you could do it like that?
Again... just taking a wild stab at it to hopefully get the ball rolling with this topic so others will chime in and hopefully come up with better ideas.

Does Shift-Control drag the tool do what you want?

Yes! Shift control drag changes the frequency! Thanks! Problem solved!

Re: How to change frequency of sine waves while using re-shaping tool?
Update: After more experimentation, I found that the highest frequency of sine waves DP would allow me to draw to re-shape the pitch value depended on the grid settings in the SE window. So I modified my technique by changing the grid value for each track before doing the re-shaping, since I want unsynchronized vibrato on the different tracks that sounds random and "human". It is working well!
