Re: DP 11.33 VocAlign Project ARA
I have to tighten 7-12 vocal tracks at a time to a guide track. Will Vocalign do this in DP? Do I have to have the Pro version, or just the Standard?
DP11, 2019 16-Core Mac Pro, OS 14 Sonoma , 64GB RAM. RME HDSPe MADI FX to SSL Alphalink to SSL Matrix console, and multiple digital sub consoles. UAD Quad PCIe. Outboard stuff.

Re: DP 11.33 VocAlign Project ARA
I got the Pro version, as it handles Pitch as well as timing which is great for stacking vocal doubles. Haven't used as ARA as yet, but have used successfully as a VST3 Plugin in DP.Killahurts wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 8:28 pm I have to tighten 7-12 vocal tracks at a time to a guide track. I'd assume the Standard version would work fine for timing only.

Try it and let us know. It might be tedious to export, upload, import one track at a time for processing.cuttime wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 10:26 pm I'm not a user of VocAlign, but I'm interested in feedback on this:

If you need it only occasionally, could be nice; looks free?

Pardon for interrupting your conversation, but maybe Waves new offering of SyncVX might be of interest.Killahurts wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 8:28 pm I have to tighten 7-12 vocal tracks at a time to a guide track. Will Vocalign do this in DP? Do I have to have the Pro version, or just the Standard?

Re: DP 11.33 VocAlign Project ARA
The thing that's always sketchy is whether or not DP will support these things via ARA. I think maybe only Melodyne (VST3) currently works? Maybe I'm wrong and I should read the thread? Re: DP 11.33 VocAlign Project ARA
This good news. I've yet to try it, but looks like there is a workable ARA approach to VocAlign.
I do wonder what computer @simul is running...

Yes that's really cool, looks like what I need.. but it's Waves, I haven't trusted them in many years and don't use their products, have they changed? What are they like now? SyncVX does have a legitimate price tag as a stand-alone, non-subscription software (required for me), so maybe it's OK.rnappi wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 4:34 amPardon for interrupting your conversation, but maybe Waves new offering of SyncVX might be of interest.Killahurts wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 8:28 pm I have to tighten 7-12 vocal tracks at a time to a guide track. Re: DP 11.33 VocAlign Project ARA
I use a lot of Waves stuff, and it has been solid for me with Apple Silicon, AU and DP. They offer some very good values and a huge variety of plugins; many run $30-40. "Buy two get two free" type sales are the norm (one is running now). WUP (Waves Update Plan) is something folks like to complain about, but WUPping is not typically required absent a computer architecture change (as in Intel to Apple Silicon). Black Friday WUP sales are pretty common, too.
As a Vocalign owner, my price to upgrade was, IIRC, less than the Waves version, which I had not heard of until today (looks new), so I'm not a potential customer for the Waves plugin. But I looked into it a bit...
Anyway, DP is NOT listed as tested host for the Waves plugin, which uses "ARA2". But it can be Demo'd, and Waves recommends this.

Re: DP 11.33 VocAlign Project ARA
I think Waves learned their lesson from the whole WUP debacle years ago. I've had no issues with their plugs or tech support, but with so many other choices, I just don't use them so much. That said, I have no problem if they want to give all their plugs away for $29.95. I'll gladly purchase and tuck them away till my curiosity gets me to try them.
As for Sync VX, I don't know how it will play out, but it's about time someone gives SyncroArts a little competition. The Landr takeover has not been good for VocAlign in my humble opinion.. Too many bugs and not enough updates.
They almost never are.

Poorly worded on my part. I meant it seems most developers don't bother including DP on their lists.
