Motu doesn’t recognise MacBook Pro m2

Post by Bulls »

Hi everyone.. the issue I have is with ultra lite mk3 .
I originally used it with my MacBook Pro (2013) model with no problem.. the cable is a FireWire 400 to FireWire 800 and then the adaptor is to thunderbolt 2.
Now that I upgraded into MacBook Pro m2 I have tried numerous cables (FireWire 400 to usb 2) with no success.. I ve also bought an extra adaptor (thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 3) but no luck again ..
My version is sequoia 15.1.1

What should I check ?

Can anybody help me with this ?

Assuming the unit is in good shape, it will work. You will need this driver that you'll find under downloads for the Hybrid version of your Ultralite.
MOTU Audio Installer
Mac v89555 | Oct. 13, 2021
macOS 14, macOS 13, macOS 12, macOS 11
You will need to change the Security settings for your Mac to allow the driver and extensions to install. There should be a Read Me with the download but we have links. Start with this one from Apple.
https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-hel ... l%20down.)

After installing, you will be rebooting several times while granting permissions for the various settings to load. When done, you have to allow your DAW and any other audio app access to your microphone.

There are many threads detailing all the steps if you run into problems but I'm in a time crunch at the moment. Anyway, start there and let us know what happens.

You're welcome.

We are a users' group unaffiliated with MOTU. Yes, I agree that a video on this would be nice.
