"I'd like to see stackable automation layers, so they aren't over each other. Also, if I select a controller I'd like to automate, I'd like that to stay selected in the automation window, not switch to something else. "
on this topic- i'd like to see a key stroke to switch all tracks to volume automation edit - "cntl option -" anybody???
also if they had a look at a digibase emulation they might really make some friends in the post world....
I'm already foaming for clip based automation ( please please a nice keystroke for clip(s) up or down a dB )

In the SE window, select only the track you want to edit from the "expand" list... (I keep this list open all the time on all my windows) highlight the volume data (automation) that you want to increase or decrease, then go to region, and select change continuous data. You will then be able to select the exact amount of decibels that you want that data to change to. A much faster way, is to drag in the time ruler bar, which will highlight the data, then drag it up or down. If your "edit grid toggle" is not turned on, you will want to (command drag). Holding down "command" toggles the edit grid toggle switch, so that the data does not accidently move horizontally.kid wrote:3) To be able to select a region of volume automation and move it up or down in various db increments while preserving your fader move.

And I don't get this one. You gotta have separate MIDI tracks from the instrument track, because many VI's can play several instruments at once within one instance. You have to be able to assign MIDI channels to each instrument within the instance, editing each one, etc. Please explain further.swiftness wrote:-Allow MIDI Data on the VI track instead of in a seperate MIDI track.

Have you ever used logic? I would like an implementation of VI's similar to that.gdw3 wrote:And I don't get this one. You create a VI Track and record MIDI right on the track. If you have a multi-channel VI, then you create a MIDI track and route the output to VI input #2, ect. Save me the extra MIDI track.

This only makes sense in an app that has track limits. DP has no track limits. Whosever idea it was to limit tracks so as to create pricing tiers should be forced to arrange for full orchestra in Garageband for a year as punishment.

I rather like DP's VI arrangement, especially since V-tracks came along. Hard to beat, in my opinion.
