Can't launch DP

Can't launch DP

DP has been installed and working for some time now. I launch it today. "Your trial has expired.' (No, I've paid for and registered this.) I re-enter my name and email. I freshly copy my key from my accounts page. I am positive they are all correct. Nope, won't launch.

I've even tried uninstalling/reinstalling, without success.

Of course I have a project I have to get done, and MOTU has no support over the weekend. Back to Cubase of necessity. (Ugh!)

Any suggestions?

Geez... I am sorry to hear this. I've never encountered my DP losing the authorization. This is probably not helpful, but when you entered the keycode make sure "Os" are zeroes, etc. Ugh... so sorry. :(

I copied/pasted my key from my accounts page, so 0 vs O shouldn't be an issue.

Sorry to hear that. As sort of a "hail mary" I'd try typing it in case copy and pasting is picking up some sort of invisible HTML character, etc.

At this point I have to get work out the door for a client. Sadly, Cubase for now.

Deleted the auth file(s). Still won't accept my credentials. However, Demo Mode (30 days) is now available! That'll work for now! Thanks!

I'm hesitant to say it, but maybe there's a space before or after the email or code?

That’s two bugs MOTU needs to address. Seems the options are to pay and not get a license or not pay and use indefinitely

I've posted this a few times over the years:

When you authorize, three things must be exactly as the MOTU license server expects: Your Key Code,, your Name and your email address. I have been tripped up on all three over the years.

With the Key Code, capitalization counts and a minus sign from the key pad is not the same as a dash from your number row (that one used to get me). Now that we can copy/paste from our User Account, this is no longer one of my issues.

Sometimes, a user will try to authorize with the serial number. This never works.

That's why I copy/paste the keycode. I'm POSITIVE there are no spaces before/after the keycode.

I'm far enough along with Cubase that I''m not going back to DP for this project. Ugh, but I've got to get this shipped. I look forward to what tech support has to say on Monday.

Got my project shipped (with Cubase, ugh!) Meanwhile, here's the issue:
Thanks for connecting with us. It appears this behavior is the result of your competitive upgrade proof submission. Would you be able to attach the proof to this ticket here so I can re-upload this? Once this is done, it'll take care of the launch/activation issue.

It is very annoying that I paid for and have been using DP for five weeks now, then the authorization fails late Friday afternoon so I have to wait until Monday to get it resolved. Meanwhile, I had a project to ship to a client over the weekend. (Which I did, using Cubase. Ugh!)

An email like: "we need your proof of crossgrade" would have been helpful. Instead of silently cutting me off at the knees.

Because I'm nosy I've looked into their Linkedin, Glassdoor and other publicly addressable websites. They're a tiny company, with probably too many products. That said, IMO the cross grade price should be the price.

I was hoping when Logic became $199 for life and included all their paid for plugins that the industry would follow, but only Reaper is as cheap, FL Studio is also upgrade free but it's more an EDM Trap producer sequencer than anything like DP. Just saying, the price to own DP is pretty high compared to similar DAWs, and the idea IMO is to get you in the door, that door is heavy.

One good thing, it's becoming obvious that DP12 is right around the corner, so I'm betting you cross graded at exactly the right time to get the upgrade for free. You will have the most stable version of DP11 and DP12 to play with or use if it comes out solid in the areas you use. :headbang:
