__ digital performer 4.61 on Mac OSX Tiger 10.4.4 ___

Post by barnee »

Hello people,

I'd like to know if some of you have this set up:

digital performer 4.61 on Mac OSX Tiger 10.4.4

I currently use a DP4.52 on 10.4.3. The DP I have is a test one a friend of mine gave me, but he wants it back. So I have to upgrade.
I've bought 4.61 but i dont know f it works good on Tiger 10.4.4.
Do you have any info that those wont match, troubles could appear?

I'm planning to record a live show on 16 tracks very soon so I have to make sure I have the best set up to record without problem.

Please, let me know.

Thanks

-Barnee.

PS: I have also installed plug ins, if I install DP4.61 over 4.52, shoul I install again the plugins? How to remove a software on mac, silply removing the folder and delete it?

I have this setup and have one problem.

With 10.4.3 aggregate audio used to give me lots of pops and clicks with two devices (896HD and 896). At that time I used just selecting (using shift) both devices in the audio hardware setup.

After I installed 10.4.4, I was getting pops and clicks with the two interfaces within DP, so I tried using the aggregate audio method again and now I am getting better results, but other problems.

The 896HD is clocked to the 896 using the driver settings and they are attached to their own firewire bus and by the method described in the manual.

If I play something in quicktime only, I get pops and clicks, itunes works fine, and they apparently use the same code.

In DP, if I try and record something on the 896HD (which is clocked to the 896), if I have audio coming out of my 896 I get CPU spikes. Playing thru (audio patchthru with effects) I have NO problems, so something is strange here.

Never had any of these problems with 10.4.3.

Downloading 10.4.5 now and see if things are any better :)

I JUST updated to Tiger 10.4.4 (well, now I just updated to 10.4.5!) two days ago with DP 4.61. I had a couple of bugs:

MACH5 -- I had to dump out the old driver and install the latest version, I had a bug where the sounds were there, but you couldn't see any of the type! You have to REMOVE it and put it in the trash, just updating doesn't seem to dump it out

MIDI -- it worked the first day, then crapped out the next day -- turned out that dumping the old MIDI driver and installing the latest, unplugging and replugging the USB, repairing permissions, fixed it.

I STILL have one issue -- I'm using a Canopus ADVC100 and I can't get it to work in DP -- I posted a message in Post Production but no answers yet -- in the Quicktime window, I don't have the option to send the video to the FW device -- if anyone knows any fixes, tricks, let me know. . . . .

Besides that, all my plugins, VSTs, audio seem to work fine!
