I am not familiar with this company. Design and specs seem pretty neat…

Cool idea, but documentation is not very clear.
EDIT: Took another look, noted the NVMe-only version.
Power button access could be an issue for some.

Re: M4 mini specific hub…thoughts?
Seems to me USB-C ports would ideally include one or two that are TB4 for fastest file copying and i/o for video editing (if that matters to you).
The ports max at 10 Gbps (TB2).
I've only found one TB5 hub so far, from OWC, and it's due to be available any day now. They also have one of two TB5 external SSDs I've seen. The other is from Sabrent, which is also nearing an availability date.

Re: M4 mini specific hub…thoughts?
If you are referring to the hub in the OP, there are no TB ports, only two USB 3.0 (aka USB 3.1 Gen 1 — 5 Gbps) and one USB 3.1 (aka USB 3.2 Gen 2 — 10 Gbps). The NVMe version has no ports at all except a USB 4 data port that uses one of the three from the Mini with no pass through at all.Jim wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 1:57 pm Seems to me USB-C ports would ideally include one or two that are TB4 for fastest file copying and i/o for video editing (if that matters to you).

TB 2 is 20 Gbps but Apple does not support that (USB 3.2 Gen 2+2 20 Gbps) over USB-C unless the port supports USB 4 (TB3/4) which these do not. On a Mac, USB 4 requires the Apple TB2–TB3 adapter to support 20 Gbps.
Any useful hub for the Mini will have at least one port that passes through USB 4. I have this one with three USB 4 ports and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 port — my wife uses it with her M1 MacBook Air.

OWC's upcoming TB 5 (USB 4,2) hub is an updated version of the above. Not yet shipping and I've not seen another yet.
