LINK: My MOTU webinar DP masterclass from this morning.
Hey folks. This morning MOTU and Matt Lapoint invited me to give a little DP masterclass on the MOTU weekly webinar. I discussed a bit about the technical side, preparing my project session in Digital Performer as well as my DP template layout, and my reasons for trying to make my cues ONE tempo. And then, we get into a little bit of general business topics and some Q&A from webinar attendees.
I do not know how long the webinar will be posted. Some stay up for a while and some tend to only hang out through the weekend. Enjoy!
Here is the Facebook video link from MOTU.

Great webinar Brian!!! Thanks so much!!
Re: LINK: My MOTU webinar DP masterclass from this morning.
Thanks a lot for posting this.
Unfortunately there is no way I can watch the webinar.
I don't understand MOTU's policy regarding this (and other) extremely useful information. What is the point of making webinars if ther're gone aftes a little time??
Does anyone have a valid link to it?
Thank you!!!

Re: LINK: My MOTU webinar DP masterclass from this morning.
I'm at this point very embedded in the DP landscape, but I have to say I've often thought that MOTU were their own worst enemy sometimes. They aren't alone that way, Ableton and NI come to mind as other truly brilliant companies that shoot themselves in the foot on a semi regular basis.
Everyone online complains about the lack of current DP training video content. MOTU have paid an employee in Matt LaPoint to host a webinar for over three years, at least 100 webinars by now. Yes, they're long, and not set up like influencers do, but it's something.

The only consolation is if past timelines match, DP12 is right around the corner and that's when they start releasing the webinars at more than 2 a year.

Yeah... I don't get the reasoning behind pulling the video. It's not like storage is an issue. All of this stuff could be hosted for FREE on YouTube, etc.

I sure hope so. Their social media approach really leaves a lot to be desired. This is now my favorite combo:Michael Canavan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 9:20 am...DP12 is right around the corner and that's when they start releasing the webinars at more than 2 a year.

It will be revealing what MOTU does next here. The online presence from nearly every other DAW is just stronger. Looking at similarly sidelined (seemingly) DAWs like Traction I don't know how they gain share? I think Traction as a company makes more money off of their plugins and distribution (Dawesome for example), than off of Tracktion the DAW.James Steele wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:24 amI sure hope so. Very cool! Yes, works great. Tools like these often stop working at some point, when FB or whoever, discovers them, but for now this is perfect for grabbing these webinars. ....the files it creates, even the HD versions, are super small toocuttime wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 10:52 am For those brave enough to have a FB account - I can confirm that this works:
