Loud clicks from Behringer Wing [Resolved Enough]

Post by dix »

I’m in the middle of an installation using an M1 MBP, and a Behringer Wing as the interface. DP is outputting loud intermittent clicks. The Wing doesn’t publish a clock to DP like the I/O in my home studio. “Internal” is the only clocking option in Clock Mode pulldown. Info from the MotuGuru FB page indicates it's not a clocking issue though. Quicktime and QLab playback fine on this same system. Only DP is clicking. Any ideas about this? …or what else the problem may be?

Thx!

My gut says check the sample rate and bit depth of your DP projects and check all of the Clock references in the DP manual. I do love searchable pdfs.

A bad USB connection seems to have been the culprit, but the issue was too intermittent to be certain. We had been using a hub between the MBP and the Wing. Once we found a USB to USB-C cable we never heard the clicks again.

Though the issue gone, I'll leave up the thread as a reminder to people to consider their cabling when stuff like this happens.
