Color Of DP Bar Beat Counter

Post by oceantracks »

Just downloaded the demo, went through all the themes, but none of them give a colored bar/beat display like I often see in videos. Prefer blue. All the themes only have a gray display. What am I doing wrong here? thx!

I believe this is a graphic glitch in DP 11.32. Once you have chosen your theme, you have to click on the Bars/Beats to change the colour to that colour scheme. I only started seeing this glitch in 11.32.

Spoke too soon. After working with DP tonight, I looked up , and it was again all gray. Clicking on the counter or changing the theme back and forth didn't help. Hope they fix this soon.

You seem to have a very unusual problem. This is the first time I've ever heard of this on this forum or anywhere. I don't doubt that it's happening to you, but unless MOTU can reproduce this, it's going to be very difficult to track down.. It's just the numbers that turn grey? You're not noticing changes in color anywhere else? You might try actually reinstalling the DP app itself.

Re installed DP, deleted prefs worked fine.

For about 45 minutes. Looked up, all gray again.

Another user in this thread was having trouble as well, but was able to resolve it by clicking on the bar counter. Not me.

I don't know... makes me wonder if this is some sort of "Accessibility" feature kicking in or some sort of macOS thing going on. Maybe open another app in the background while DP is running and see if after 45 minutes something happens there too. This is really, really odd. What theme were you using in this screen capture, because it looks like other elements went grey, too? Try opening the "Counter" window and see if that's doing it also.

Very, very odd. I notice you don't use a signature. Some of us put our system specs in there. What version of macOS are you running and on what hardware?

I'm using "None So Dark 'but it doesn't matter, I can go through EVERY theme and the result is the same. Everything changes but that transport bar stays gray. Haven't deleted prefs again but even if that works for awhile that doesn't solve anything.

Sorry about the sig, I'm on Ventura 13.4, iMac 27, 40g Ram. Haven't upgraded because Pro Tools has been solid with this setup and everyone who has upgraded has filled the AVID DUC with problems lol
Using AVID mBox Studio.

Was using this system when previously demoing DP and had no problems.

Not happening here in V11.32, either on Sonoma Silicon, or Monterey Intel.

I think you mean "None More Black"... (not in front of DP now, but that's a inside Spinal Tap joke)...

That's the normal look of the transport controls in that theme. Why it doesn't change colors when you change themes, I'm not sure. Do you have the control panel set to float? Maybe it's a bug involving that?

Definitely not happening here on Sonoma 14.6.1 and DP 11.32. In fact all the decades I've been using DP, I've never seen that.

I am nearly 100 per cent sure it should normally be blue, I've used it in the past, and tonight I again deleted prefs and the blue came back. I switched themes several times, then it went dark again.

I see lots of videos on YouTube with VERY dark DP backgrounds, and a blue counter, like this...

Whole things is very frustrating. Can't get tech support as I'm just using the demo.
