Hi,
I have a Dell Optiplex 745 with 8GB RAM, and a Core2Duo 2,66 Ghz and Windows 7 64 bit installed.
I also have a Ultralite Mk3 (the Firewire version) and a Texas Instruments Firewire chip (I thought it was a Belkin).
I installed the latest drivers (v4 from begin August).
The problem:
If I open up Cuemix FX and set the right-tab to show "Meters", my CPU usages rises to an average of 60%!
Is this normal?
If I open up Ntrack DJ studio together with Cuemix FX, my computer freezes, because the CPU load is constantly 100%.
PS: The MOTU is configured: 48Khz and 512 samples per buffer.

Re: CPU Usage of Cuemix FX
I am using the PCI-424 and 24i/o. I had the same issues with the massive CPU drain with the new CueMix FX control panel-30%-50% usage. I uninstalled and reverted to the previous driver.
Re: CPU Usage of Cuemix FX
Resurrecting an old thread here because I notice the same thing. CueMix FX uses a lot of CPU with my Ultralite-mk3 firmware 1.06 via USB, about 45%. If CueMix is minimized the usage drops to below 10%. If it is just covered up it stays at 45%.
Dell D630 circa 2007
Win7-64 Ultimate
T7500 Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz
4 GB RAM
Nvidia Quadro NVS 135M video driver 8.17.12.9688 (this is not the latest, the latest is 9.18.13.1090).
Intel ICH8 USB2 driver 6.1.7601.17586 circa 6/21/2006!
Admittedly an older laptop but it seems to be something to do with video and the way CueMix handles metering.
I had the same thing on an older D620 and was eventually able to get it down I think by using an older video driver for that computer's NVS 110M video card. But I haven't had the same luck reverting the D630 video.
I think CueMix may not be coded very efficiently on the graphics side. If you have this problem, try using older video drivers, that might help. Remember that the Ultralite-mk3 was released in late 2009.
This thread might be of some use even though it references useing an older Firewire driver.
I looked into newer USB drivers but it doesn't find any. Hard to believe they haven't been updated since 2006. Not sure how to update or revert the ICH8 drivers. If anyone has an idea that'd be great.

Re: CPU Usage of Cuemix FX
It's really old post, but I share my experience in case could be useful for anybody.
My cuemix with intel i7 and motu 828mk3 firewire had this cpu usage:
- 25% when opened the window
- 18% when minimized.
After change in bios CPU C1E state to Disabled I have now:
- 25% when opened the window
- 0% when minimized.
