DP and Melodyne
Hi gang........
I'm probably a little thick on this, but can someone please explain to me the relationship between DP and Melodyne and how to tell if I have the latest version of Melodyne installed? (I'm on a Mac and almost exclusively use AU plugins)
As I understand it, the free Melodyne Essential is what integrates with DP. How do I know if it's installed and configured properly?
I also bought Melodyne Assistant.
Curiously, the Melodyne AU Components appear as folders… so how can I tell what version I have?
Thanks.

Re: DP and Melodyne
For the ARA2 feature of Melodyne 5 to work, you must enable the VST3.
As for what version, Essential, Editor, Studio etc., the most advanced one you have installed is the one you are calling up. You cannot select among them.
Last year or whenever it was that I tested Essential, I had to install it only on my laptop. I found it surprisingly good for certain tasks. No way was I going to uninstall Melodyne Studio from my M2 Studio, however.
Recently, v.5 incorporated a new feature. When you call it up, if it is out of date, a web page opens in your browser and takes you to a page that lets you download the latest update. I found this quite annoying till I finally looked at the page and realized what was happening.

Re: DP and Melodyne
OK… I updated to Melodyne 5.4.1.004 yesterday. Both the AU Component and VST3 files in my system show they were changed yesterday.mikehalloran wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 3:00 pm For the ARA2 feature of Melodyne 5 to work, you must enable the VST3.

When I open DP, the VST3 for Melodyne fails to pass inspection and actually crashes DP.
Any suggestions?
ADDENDUM: I just re-installed Melodyne using the same installer and this time the Melodyne VST3 passed muster in DP.
