Melodyne updated to 5.4.1

Post by sethares »

I updated yesterday. There was a heart-stopping moment when it couldn't find the plugin, but then I remembered that you have to enable the VST3 and disable the AU versions in order to use it as an ARA. Once installed, I used it all afternoon without incident.

************************

The update to Version 5.4.1 contains improvements and bug fixes, which is why we recommend it to all users.

Language localization: Switching to the French language version no longer worked, the previously selected language was retained.

Windows: Under certain circumstances on some Japanese, Korean or Chinese systems, Melodyne failed to launch.

macOS: On some systems, graphic errors could occur after closing the toolbox.

ARA: It was sometimes impossible to edit the Chord and Key tracks.

************************
Mac OS (Sonoma), DP-11.33, Mac mini + Macbook, Focusrite, Kontakt, Melodyne, Synthmaster, Respiro, WX-7, Starr Controller, Lumatone, Max/MSP, Ozone, assorted plug-ins, many guitars.

Fission Updated to 2.8.6

Post by James Steele »

Fission Updated to 2.8.6
Updated in Fission 2.8.6:

• Preliminary Support for MacOS 15 (Sequoia) Betas
Fission will no longer warn every launch when run on MacOS 15 (Sequoia). There are no known issues on Sequoia at present, but do note that these betas remain in flux. To avoid problems, we always encourage users to stick with Apple’s official (non-beta) OS releases.

• If you’re running the latest version of Fission when you check for an update, the resulting information screen now provides a helpful “View Release Notes” button.

• Creation of Chapterized MP3s has been improved for wider compatibility with assorted podcast platforms.

• An issue where waveforms would not properly display on MacOS 15 (Sequoia) has been fixed.

• Accessibility improvements have been made for the “Permissions” window.

Generally, Rogue Amoeba apps do a pretty nice job of update notification within the app. Still, with FIssion, I had to tick the "Check for updates" menu item and viola!

Audio Hijack updated from 4.4.2 to 4.4.3

Post by James Steele »

Audio Hijack updated from 4.4.2 to 4.4.3
Updated in Audio Hijack 4.4.3:

Preliminary Support for MacOS 15 (Sequoia) Betas
Audio Hijack will no longer warn every launch when run on MacOS 15 (Sequoia). There are no known issues on Sequoia at present, but do note that these betas remain in flux. To avoid problems, we always encourage users to stick with Apple’s official (non-beta) OS releases.

Return of the “Text to Speech” Special Source
The “Text to Speech” special source has returned, to capture speech audio from applications which do not directly play generated speech (typically triggered by the “Start Speaking” command in the “Speech” menu) via their own process.

Improvements to Special Sources
The “Siri” special source now correctly includes sound effects on MacOS 14 (Sonoma), and the “VoiceOver” special source has been optimized to capture only necessary processes.

Undo now properly handles adjustments to the On/Off switch on blocks in all cases, as well as wire deletions.

Several accessibility improvements have been made for VoiceOver users, including several enhancements to the “Parametric EQ” block, corrections to readings of the “Application” block, and improvements to reading of block names to make it clearer that they can be edited.

Previously, it was incorrectly possible to delete a built-in script from the “Script Library” (it would return upon relaunch). That deletion is now disallowed.

The main “Session List” window will no longer incorrectly appear when opening the “About” or “Quick Tour” windows.

Plugin Alliance - TBT Kirchhoff EQ updated to 1.7.0

Post by James Steele »

Plugin Alliance - TBT Kirchhoff EQ updated to 1.7.0

Not sure when this happened, but the only way I've been able to find out if a plug has been updated is go into my "Manage Licenses" page at Plugin Alliance and open Plug Info simultaneously and go down the list and compare version numbers. Somewhere along the line Kirchhoff EQ was updated to 1.7.0. I had 1.6.4 installed.

To update run PA-Installation Manager.

BABY Audio Updates

Post by James Steele »

BABY Audio Updates

Haven't checked over there in a while.

https://babyaud.io/downloads

Crystalline updated to 1.7
Comeback Kid updated to 1.5

Also looks like their Freebies have been updated. You have to enter your email here: https://babyaud.io/freebies

Then you receive an email containing links to the free plug-ins. I only have a couple.
• MagicSwitch is now 1.1 (I had 1.0.2)
• Pitch Drift is now 1.1 (I had 1.0.0)

So if you have any of those and haven't checked in a while, might want to download and update.

I thought that I was done with Audio Hijack but wound up using it last week to capture audio from an app where I don't need video at all. First thing I saw was the update and ran it. I really like its ease of use nowadays.

Updates for all 4 plugins. Get 'em here.

I like that they conveniently provide a separate installer for each plugin format, so you don't have to install a bunch of stuff you don't want to get the ones you do.
