Optimal TB2 length
Hey guys I have my 828X and I am hooking it up to my 2013 MacPro. Finding a TB2 cable is a challenge. I think I found one at OWC. What length should I be look for ? What is too long ? Thanks !

These used to be available in 1M, 2M, 3M lengths but no longer. Your choices are limited nowadays.
Here is a new 2M

MDP (mini display port) cables will show up in your search and the plugs are the same but they do not pass Thunderbolt — avoid.

I have a couple of 1M cables with frayed ends that still work plus a 2M cable for my old OWC Dock that I still use — better hang onto those!

I have a 3m TB2 cable; got it when I bought my Mac Studio a couple years back. Must have gotten one of the last ones. If/when it ever dies, I'll have to spring for the $180 Apple variant, as I need all 3 meters. Assuming I'm still running my 828ES, I'll still need my Apple TB Adaptor; it will just be on the end near the 828 instead of near the Mac as it is now.
