MOTU audio system turns off when I select most inputs in hardware setup - RESOLVED

Post by edmaestro »

Hi, Everyone,

I'm running the latest version of DP on my Mac Studio with and M2 Max processor. I usually use an 828ES, attached via Thunderbolt, as my output, and that works fine. But if I ever select my Studio Display Speakers or my Mac Studio speakers as the output instead, I get an emergency stop and the MOTU Audio System turns off. That happens no matter how many times I restart the machine or DP, or repeat the process.

I've tried this with a blank project with nothing recorded or routed anywhere with the same results.

I'd appreciate any advice or help.

Thanks,

It sounds like DP might be detecting a feedback loop. When you select that as an output, do you have those same devices somehow selected as an input in the system audio setup? Just a shot in the dark here.

Detective Steele has posited a likely scenario.
